Peppermint Essential Oil

What are essential oils?
Essential oils are complex, highly concentrated, volatile aromatic substances of medicinal and aromatic plants, which may contain over 300 different compounds, generally of low molecular weight. They offer a wealth of properties when used in aromatherapy, skincare and personal care.

Thanks to their chemical composition, essential oils possess numerous biological properties (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, etc.) of great interest in the food and cosmetic industries and the human health sector.

Modern aromatherapy uses essential oils as the central part of a holistic approach to healing a person, aiming to achieve spiritual, physical and mental health and balance.

Directions for Use
Essential oils are concentrated substances, and because of this, we do NOT recommend using them without diluting them first. Before using, add essential oils to a carrier oil such as jojoba, coconut, almond, or others. Diluting them in this way provides a measure of protection from skin irritation and allergic reactions.

A general rule of thumb for diluting is to use a 1% dilution for children (6 years and older), pregnant women, elderly adults, those with compromised immune systems, sensitive skin, or other serious health issues. A 2% dilution is acceptable for the average adult with no health issues. Higher dilutions can be used, depending on the situation and the health of the person they will be applied to.
Practically in 100ml of Saponaria Almond Oil, we can add up to 60 drops. We recommend that you use the lowest dilution possible that provides adequate results, and always keep in mind that essential oils are highly concentrated, so “less is more”.

Aromatherapy massage: Mix 2-7 drops in a spoonful of base oil
Diffusion devices: 3-7 drops
In the bath: Mix 8-20 drops in a small quantity of carrier oil and dissolve very well in water.
Inhalations: 1-5 drops in a basin of warm water
Foot bath: Mix 2-7 drops in a small quantity of carrier oil and dissolve in warm water
In cooking: Enhance your recipes with one drop or less, and dissolve thoroughly (specific essential oils only)
In the wardrobe: Add 1-5 drops in a potpourri or cotton and place inside wardrobes and drawers.
In cosmetics, creams, shampoos etc.: Add 2-20 drops
In the washing machine: Add a few drops in the rinse cycle for nice-smelling clothes
For cleaning your house: Add a few drops in your natural cleaning spray or the mop bucket

Cautions:
The same essential oils and blends we use on ourselves are not always safe for our dogs, cats, birds, horses or other pets.
Essential oils are flammable. Keep them out of the way of fire hazards.
Store in a cool, dry place away from children and pets.
Avoid using inside ears, nose, eyes and genitals.
Seek advice from a health professional or an experienced aromatherapy practitioner for the proper use and dosage, mainly when intended for internal use, by children, the elderly, pregnant women, nursing mothers and people with chronic illnesses, or when taking medication.
